First, I apologize for the ultra-long post, I just could not bear to split this one up into multiple posts, it’s better as a whole story.
This wedding was a dream. Eliza + Josh. Sweet, thoughtful, kind. Adventurous. Well-loved. Exceptionally sweet and fun-loving parents – you don’t always get parents that are in the thick of the dance floor at every wedding. Incredible organization by Aimee + Anahi of Tropical Occasions and Santa Teresa Beach Weddings. The amazing little surf town of Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Jungles. Driving 4WD through streams and unpaved dusty roads. Roller coasting through tropical winds in a teeny tiny plane. Hot. Hot. Hot. Surprise fireworks, a beach bonfire with s’mores, an ex-pat rocking band, friends that hopped onto the guitar and got the crowd going, and a DJ that left it all on the dance floor, a wedding that was still going strong at 2:30 am. The fisherman groom and his friends catching enough for a welcome party fish taco BBQ.
Take me back any day. Preferably now.
It did remind me of my own wedding years ago in Playa del Carmen, Mexico (minus the rainstorm that battered mine), which just made me love Eliza + Josh and this wedding even more.
Huge shout out to my very talented photographer friend, Kali Kraum, who joined me in Costa Rica and contributed many of the photos below. Many laughs shared through our adventures, she was a great travel companion and, of course, an amazing photographer too.

Love it when there is a great group of girlfriends surrounding a bride, especially when they have a giggle fest involving baby powder…
