Barr + Lindsay have that special extra something, that indescribable thing that only the lucky possess. When I first met them, I saw just the way that they look at each other: love, simple and sweet. They told me the story of how they got engaged and let’s just say that Barr really set a standard for romantic proposals which included packing her bags, making arrangements with her boss, and a surprise plane ticket. I ask my couples a few getting to know you questions before their wedding and I was surprised by the wisdom expressed in their answers. This usually comes from a marriage, a very true sense of who they are individually and how that all fits in with each other. The wedding was at one of my all-time favorite venues, the historic Mill Valley Outdoor Art Club and featured a coterie of local Marin vendors: Mill Valley Flowers, Milvali Beauty Salon, the Mill Valley Inn, cake designer Sweet Things Bakery …..and me, of course!
A summery night under the stars, rustic elegance, natural surroundings, true family togetherness, and love simmering over made this wedding unforgettable.
Lindsay’s family is exceptionally close. Her dad’s outward affection is much like Barr’s!
Across the street from the Outdoor Art Club is El Paseo, the newest Tyler Florence restaurant. I’ve always loved this little alleyway and though the restaurant now takes over most of it, I managed to sneak them to a quiet little spot for a few quick photos. If you are looking for a delicious and romantic place for dinner, El Paseo is a must.
Friends of Lindsay + Barr’s played acoustic guitar for their first dance, which was “By My Side” by Ben Harper.
